Education and literacy are the key factor to ensure economic empowerment. According to a World Bank Report, the levels of achievement in the Indian education system are low and millions of children in the school going age group are out of schools. The Government's Primary education system does not reach 20% of the hamlets. Of those covered 40% do not have proper buildings, 70% do not have drinking water, 86% do not have toilet facilities and 37% of the Schools are one room Schools.
Much needs to be done to see that the education is made accessible to the poorest of the poor through quality educational institutions. Education is a fundamental right of every citizen and in its endeavor in strengthening education Abhijeet Foundation is committed to contribute by taking the following initiatives. |

Renovation of the Green Field Academy, Chandwa. |

The Green field Academy School is the single English medium school in the 30 km of periphery. The school had almost 300 students before the renovation started. The renovated school is now having 400 students in it. The total cost of renovation is almost Rs. 4, 00,000 only. The renovation activity include plastering of the rooms constructed there, roofing of the rooms and verandah, flooring of the rooms and verandah, repairing of the toilets, tiles in the toilets, doors in the toilets, installation of the hand-pumps, arrangement for the desk-bench, chairs-tables, almirah, plantation, children park development, land leveling and electrification of the classes and fan and bulbs donation. School has visited our project villages to encourage the people for having the quality education. CEO visited the school and announced that group will support the school for upgrading it up to 10th Standard |

Upgradation of Ma Ugratara School, Nagar. |

The Ma Ugratara School is supported by the group as there are most of the students are from the project villages. The school is benefited by the group in reference to slogan writing, black boards, land leveling, musical instruments and support for the library, furniture’s, sport goods and other educational material |

Support to the Saint Julie
School, Gerenja |

The school
at Gerenja is supported by the group
for quality education through text
books to the deprived children. |

Support to the Middle School,
Bhaisadon |
| |
|
The school is situated
in the center of the project villages.
Land leveling at the school ground
which is almost 4 acres in area
was done. |

Support to the Middle School,
Chakla |

The school is helped
with the sports materials like complete
kit of football (Fig E.8). |

Support to the High School,
Balumath |
| |
|
36 students of the
school were trained by the coach
for football. The trained students
had played and won the matches up
to three levels i.e. block, district
and commissionery. The students
are supposed to train further for
state level matches to win. |

Patriotic filling drive |
| |
|
Almost schools in the
project areas are supported with
construction of the flag hosting
plate-forms. Same were provided
with the pipes and national flags. |

Legal awareness camp |
| |
|
On
1st July ’07 a legal awareness
camp was organized at Balumath Block.
It was organized to educate the
people of the Balumath block about
their legal rights. The camp was
inaugurated by the DC Mr. Servendu
Tathagat and District Judge Mr.S.K.Dubey. |

Adoption of Schools |

Group
has decided to adopt other 10 schools
from the project area for improving
the standard of education in the
project area. |

Trophies for teachers |
| |
|
The
foundation has helped the Local
Poor Students in Karnataka by distributing
books to 10000 students through
local Zilla panchayat leader Shri.
Giridhar and recognized the efforts
of the local teachers by awarding
trophies to outstanding teachers
of the local area. |
