  Abhijeet Group lays the Foundation Stone of India’s Largest Manganese Alloys plant in Vizag    2010-02-25  
 

Foundation Stone unveiled by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Dr. K. Rosaiah

V isakhapatnam , 21 Feb 2010: The foundation stone of India ’s Largest Manganese Alloy plant, Abhijeet Ferrotech Limited (AFL), was unveiled by the hands of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Dr. K. Rosaiah.

Abhijeet Group is setting up a Manganese Alloy plant of 360 M V A with an estimated production of 0.5742 MTPA. The plant will be backed by an Integrated Power Plant of 300 MW.

The plant will comprise of 8 x 13.5 M V A Submerged Electrical Arc furnaces (SEAF) in phase I in AFL and the balance facilities in Phase II. The total land required for the project is 200 acres out of which 50 acres land allotment orders have been received and the remaining is in process.

The total investment outlay of the project is about Rs. 2430 crores out of which Rs. 555 crore will be invested in the first phase.

The Group has undertaken the challenge to construct the first phase comprising of 8 furnaces within 12 months, this Herculean task in building the Ferro Alloys plant will be a record in itself and the group is leaving no stone unturned towards attaining this.

Address a gathering of more than 10000 people, the Chief Minister welcomed Abhijeet Group into Andhra Pradesh and appreciated the efforts of Shri Manoj Jayaswal for setting up the largest Manganese alloy unit in India .

The Chief Minister appreciated the Group’s decision of setting up a back up power plant to feed the Ferro alloy plant.

The project has been supported by the Axis bank, Indian Bank, United Bank of India, Indian Overseas Bank and the UCO bank.

The upcoming plant is expected to create 2500 direct employment opportunities and another 5000 indirect employment opportunities.

The chairman, Shri Manoj Jayaswal thanked the Chief Minister and the other dignitaries for showing their support and gracing the occasion with their presence. He appreciated the efforts taken by the AP government and ensured that the group will play its part in the state’s development.
